
MELISSA WATERS practices estate planning, trust and probate law.
Ms. Waters serves as a member of the board of directors for FOOD Share, the food bank for Ventura County. Ms. Waters also serves as the chair of the Planned Giving Committee for FOOD Share. Additionally, Ms. Waters serves as a member of the board of directors for the Ventura County Barristers, a part of the Ventura County Bar Association. Ms. Waters also serves as a member of the Planned Giving Committee of the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
Ms. Waters attended Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. 2007, cum laude) and University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A. 1999).
In law school, she was an editor for Pepperdine's Dispute Resolution Journal and published the journal article, "A Holistic Approach to Estate Planning: Paramount in Protecting Your Family, Your Wealth, and Your Legacy." During law school, Ms. Waters worked at Pepperdine University’s Center for Estate and Gift Planning where she assisted donors with their charitable giving.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Waters lived in New York City where she worked for the book publishing house, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., handling subsidiary rights.
Ms. Waters lives in Ventura with her husband, Taylor, and their dog, Brody. They enjoy spending time with their family and friends, fixing up their house, hiking in the nearby mountains, listening to live music, traveling and wine tasting.
