
NANCY MILLER practices in the areas of school and employment law as well as general civil litigation.
Ms. Miller has been admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States District Court, Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. She is also a member of the California Council of School Attorneys and the National School Board Association of School Attorneys.
Before entering the legal profession, Ms. Miller worked in public education for 23 years. She has broad experience in collective bargaining, contract enforcement and personnel matters. She also has extensive experience in prosecuting and defending sexual harassment matters.
Ms. Miller is a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Santa Barbara. Her term of office expires in 2010. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Santa Barbara County Democratic Central Committee and is President of the Democratic Service Club, a volunteer grassroots organizing group with over two thousand members.
Ms. Miller received her legal education at Loyola Law School, graduating in 1989 as a member of Phi Delta Phi, an international honor fraternity. She was also the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy.
Ms. Miller and her husband Ralph Miler, President of the Los Angeles County Probation Officers Union, have two adult children and have recently become the proud grandparents of their first grandchild.
