
A certified family law specialist, SYLVIA SOTO has practiced in all areas of family law, including dissolution of marriage actions, paternity matters, stepparent adoptions, complex custody issues and property disputes, for more than a decade.
Ms. Soto serves as judge pro tem for the family law courts in Ventura County and is a former board member for the Ventura County Bar Association and the Ventura County Family Law Bar.
Ms. Soto is involved in various professional and community organizations. She is a member of the Amgen Cycling Club and currently serves as a member of the Grant Committee for the Destino Hispanic Legacy Fund.
Ms. Soto graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She received her law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley, where she also served as an editor for the International Tax and Business Lawyer Law Journal and served on the board of directors for the Counsel on Legal Education Opportunities. She received a master’s degree in international policy studies from Stanford University.
Ms. Soto lives in Thousand Oaks with her two children. She has traveled extensively in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and is an avid runner and cyclist.
